Mathew specializes in software and embedded systems here at Synapse. He graduated Cum Laude in 2002 with a degree in Computer Engineering and a four year Mary Gates academic scholarship awarded by the University of Washington Honors Program. Mathew has worked in product development since his graduation from university, first specializing in audio recording technologies before generalizing. Mathew has a deep interest in audio and light based art and reactive and interactive environments, architecture, and human computer interaction. Mathew plays guitar, is a good cook and loves to travel. As an engineer he is fascinated by what makes a system stable and maintainable, and particularly enjoys working with clients to effectively solve their problems. Here at synapse he has worked in embedded and desktop Linux, 8 and 16 bit micro controllers, USB controllers, iPhone development, cross platform C++ applications and other technologies. He loves to learn new things and is always striving to grow as a person and an engineer.
