Brian Piquette

Brian Piquette – Sr. Electrical Engineer

Brian received his BSEE, Summa Cum Laude (1991) from Washington State University, with a focus on microprocessor system designs. Brian began his career at Boeing where he spent 5 years working on passenger entertainment systems including the Cabin Interphone and Public Address systems for the 777 aircraft and on a Phased Array antenna system designed to allow reception of Direct Broadcast Satellite feeds (i.e. DirecTV and Dish Network) live to in-service airplanes. Following his time at Boeing, Brian spent 2 years at Intel working on developing implementation guidelines and signal integrity simulations to address integrity issues for high speed busses.  Contributions during this time included layout and routing rules for the first 100MHz front dual processor front side bus and implementing Rambus (800MHz) with a memory expansion card.  In this position, Brian assumed the role of technical lead of the signal integrity group where he was responsible for the training of new employees in Intel’s signal integrity methodologies. After Intel, Brian spent 2+ years with Seattle area start-up Wavtrace (purchased by Harris) serving as technical lead in the design of the hub unit in the Wavtrace LMDS point-to-multipoint Wireless Broadband Access system. Responsibilities there included architecture development and implementation of a single board 10Gbps ATM switch.

Brian joined Synapse in 2001 and has been an integral part of Synapse's success and growth.

All that being said, I just like making motors go 'round and LEDs blink!
